So... made any local superheroes lately... Right, I thought so. Me neither. Sad but true we live in a time where our society generally works the standard day-job-like hours (9-5) and most of our daytime social activities have been relegated to conversations around the lunchroom and/or coffee shop and/or both. Funny isn't it? I'm guessing none of you have ever thought of superheroes as a naturally occurring local phenomenon. I had a conversation with a friend of mine last night, he said "It's not as if I've done anything super heroic lately... I mean, I've been busy." "What?" I asked him. "Who says! Have you opened the door for anyone lately? Do you smile on the subway." Well, sure, I hope that most of you would answer the same to both those questions. So what;s stopping you from claiming your superherodom as your own!
Just because it isn't written in an history books or appear on any newstand does not mean that you are not a super hero to someone in your midst. Take this, for example, this weird little portal in cyberspace that you may have stumbled onto-- either that or it's been forced on you by some well-meaning splendorifc friend like me. Can I not be a superhero just because I say so and you better be likely to agree before I finish this sentence. I'm waiting. No-- only kidding! :-)
My material point is this: who's to say that you never had it in you from the start? You do. Who's to say it all just falls apart? You do! Who's to say your power'd often wain? You do. Who will take life back-- begin again? _____! Thank you. Next please, may I take your order?
